A lot of “more experienced” teachers in my school cringe when they think of trends or fads in learning. They say, “Oh, it’s just the latest ‘thing’, it will be gone before we know it.” I used to feel the same way. But I’ve come to realize that trends in learning aren’t a bad thing. I like that I work in a field that’s always growing and changing. We owe it to our “clients”. They just so happen to be the most important clients in the world!

My favorite learning trend right now is this. That’s it. What? Yes. Huh? This! That’s what I meant!

“This” is learning spurred on by discussion on Twitter. This is what happens when teachers from all over the world put their heads together and share their ideas, questions, hopes, fears, concerns…

We challenge each other to be better teachers and we support each other through the process. This is one trend that I don’t think is going away anytime soon. I do not know what I would do without my Twitter PLNs!

Now, Tweeps, we just have to figure out how to sell it to the rest of our colleagues who are still resisting!

Buena suerte,
