The Spanish III class is MAD! And I mean mad. They want to go back to verb charts and vocabulary lists PRONTO (am I right, guys?). Yesterday we had a little mini meeting after school to talk about the issue, and I think I’ve pulled them over to my side. I think now they understand that acquiring a language is different from learning it, and in the end, they’ll get more from acquisition- as in, an actual skill!
Just to further persuade them, I have compiled a list of my favorite and most compelling blog posts and websites that argue for proficiency-driven learning in the world language classroom.
