Students, do you remember what verb form that is in the title of this post?  That’s RIGHT!  “Impersonal Se”, also known as “passive voice with se”.  We are about to put impersonal se to use in our next major task.

Obj: Design a bilingual digitalized pamphlet, video, webpage, or podcast, that illustrates Colombian etiquette and customs; and compare it with etiquette for our region of the US. NO POWERPOINTS! (Abuuuuuuuuuuuuuriiiiiieeeeeeendo)

1.    Read and translate emails received from Colombia and/or combine this information with research on daily life (vida cotidiana) in Colombia.

2.    Decide what format you will use to present your findings.

3.    Begin organizing your information  and decide how you will use the “impersonal se” to express this information in your project.  Keep it simple, your purpose is simply to inform the public about customs, traditions, colloquialisms, and daily life in Colombia.

Requeridos: Por lo menos 10 variados verbos en la forma del “se impersonal”; incluye una comparación cultural; pueden trabajar en parejas o solos.

¡Cuidado!  You only have today and tomorrow to work on this in the libary, then whatever you do not complete may be done at home over the weekend.

Suggestions for digitalized output: padlet (eh), animoto, prezi, Big Huge Labs, Weebly, wikispaces, Dvolver animator, make Beliefs Comix, Marvelkids comic maker, ToonDoo…

Students, do you have any suggestions?  If so, post a comment below!

Reflection question: ¿Cómo se deben ser calificados los proyectos? Incluye una esquema (rubric) o simplemente unos criterios en un email a tu profesora (

¡Buena Suerte!
